Hen’s night games and activities

You only have one hen’s night (unless you get married a couple of times, that is!). So if you’ve been given the job of organising the ‘last hurrah’ before your friend gets hitched, you might be feeling the pressure to make it super-fun. Here are a few games and activities to help keep the good times rolling.
-
Games
Dare the bride:
This is a good one if you’re out on a bar-hopping hen’s night. Make a list of 10 dares for the bride-to-be to complete throughout the night, such as scoring a free cocktail by sweet-talking the barman, to getting a kiss on the cheek from the hottest guy in the club. This game is only for the most daring of hens!
-
Rhyme time:
Get everyone to write a short rhyming poem about the bride-to-be – it can be as ridiculous as you like (but not too offensive), as long as it mentions the bride and her fiance! Have each guest read her rhyme out for the amusement of the group. The bride can give out little prizes for the most poetic creation, as well as the funniest poem.
-
Bridal quiz:
Create a quiz called ‘How well do you know the bride?’ and include a mix of easy and more obscure questions about her life. Make sure the questions cover everything from her childhood to work life to hobbies and her fiance. This way, guests from all areas of her life will know at least a few answers.
-
Create a gown:
Divide guests into groups and give them rolls of toilet paper to participate in this silly craft challenge. One member of each group acts as the model who gets wrapped in a delightful toilet-paper wedding gown creation (complete with accessories, if you’re clever enough!).
-
Activities
Memory book:
Get a blank notebook where all the guests can write their advice for a long, happy marriage – it can be light-hearted and fun or more serious. Ask each guest to bring a photo of herself with the hen, so it can be stuck it in the book next to their advice.
-
At-home salon:
Treat the hen and the girls to beauty treatments from a mobile salon – anything from spray tans to massages, manis and pedis, facials and make-up lessons. Make the hen a pamper pack for the night – include items like a face mask, fluffy bathrobe, slippers and nail polish.
-
Star of the show:
Make a photo slideshow of the hen over the years and project it on the wall – from her first day at school to tacky formal photos with her geeky high-school boyfriend. The more embarrassing the better – it’ll get everyone reminiscing about the past. If the mother of the bride can provide some old home videos of her daughter, even better!
