Kids' birthday party tips

If you have a birthday party to host, look no further for tips to keep the little ones amused.

    • Choose a theme (superheroes, fairies, dinosaurs) and incorporate that theme into everything from the games to the table setting
    • A simple but delicious cake can be made by shaping and icing store-bought sponge. A selection of lollies will provide yummy decorations
    • Have some games up your sleeve. Make a pinjata, pass the parcel, or pin the tail on the donkey
    • If in doubt, ring in a little outside help - a clown or jumping castle. Alternatively, host the party at a nearby playground
    • Short is sweet - a couple if hours is all you’ll need to have everyone fed and entertained

  • There’s no doubt that parties are top priority on every child’s social calendar and that they are a very important event for the host and their guests. Having a handful of games to entertain can be key to bringing the party to life. The best games to choose depend on the age of the guests. Some require loads more supervision than others and much more preparation. It’s best to keep things simple if you can and ensure you have some help on hand to help you run the fun.
