Christmas in July time

Christmas in July time

Do you love Christmas and all things festive? Then don’t wait another six months for December to finally roll around. Instead, celebrate Christmas the way those who live in the Northern Hemisphere do – when it’s wintery and chilly outside, and warm and cosy inside!

  • Some tips for planning your Christmas in July party:

You might usually offer a cold spread of ham and seafood for a steamy Aussie celebration. But for your Christmas in July event, take advantage of the cold weather by serving a hot meal. Indulge in traditional Christmas dinner fare – we’re talking roast turkey or pork with all the trimmings, Christmas pudding with brandy custard, egg nog and white Christmas.
  • Don’t forget to decorate the house in a festive manner – crackers, red and green napery, window stencils, banners and more. Purchase them online, because you certainly won’t find Christmas decorations in the shops at this time of year. You could even get the Christmas tree out of the box if you’re really keen!
  • The majority of us spend Christmas Day with our family (and all the dramas and feelings of obligation that can bring!), so make your Christmas in July party a celebration with good friends. Invite them using one of our Christmas invites – we’ve got dozens to choose from.
  • Plan your Christmas feast as part of a long weekend – invite a few couples or families to join you for a winter getaway this July school holiday period. Head to the snowfields where you can re-create the quintessential white Christmas experience (with some skiing and snowman building thrown in, of course!). Or rent a farmhouse in the country with oodles of ambience – perfect for a Christmas in July feast in front of a roaring open fire and candlelight.
